The Annual Lawyers’ Games Tournament dubbed, the LSK Justice Games 2024 was held on 27th July 2024 at the University of Embu, Embu County in the LSK Mt. Kenya Branch. The Tournament successfully brought together legal professionals for an engaging day of competitive games, networking and team spirit. This year’s event featured a range of activities designed to challenge participants’ strategic thinking, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
The tournament saw over 30 teams register for football while other teams registered for basketball, table tennis, pool, volleyball, badminton and darts.
The event featured a keynote address from Hon Lucy Njuguna, Presiding Judge at the Embu Law Courts, who welcomed members to the County and indicated that the games were a call for a celebration of unity and a spirit of fair play from the stakeholders in the administration of justice.
She further noted that the games would foster interlinkages within the legal and justice entities while promoting physical well-being and wholesome interactions.
On the other hand, the LSK President Faith Odhiambo noted that the games would encourage competitiveness and promote health benefits of the members. In addition, it provided for an opportunity for networking, share experiences and explore potential collaborations.
After a gruesome day of sporting action the following teams emerged winners;
Football
- Parliamentary Joint Service
- Okil Kamaloka Welfare Association (OKWA)
- Kisii Teaching and Referral
Other teams were also declared winners in other games.
The Justice Games Tournament 2024 was a success, with lots of opportunity for learning and bettering of future tournaments.
GOLF TOURNAMENT
At the sidelines of the #LSKJusticeGames2024 members also participated in a Golf Tournament at the Embu Golf Club.
The Tournament was a resounding success that saw participation from over 50 golfers competing in a series of challenging rounds. The long hours on the course were punctuated by friendly gestures, strategic plays and the occasional cheer from the sidelines. Each hole presented its own set of challenges, testing the golfers’ skill and endurance. Despite the long day, the spirit of sportsmanship remained high.
As the tournament drew to a close, the final holes were met with a mix of exhaustion and exhilaration. The awards ceremony celebrated the top performers and acknowledged everyone’s effort. The long day of golfing ended on a high note, with a sense of accomplishment.
